Our son Phillip passed away on the 12th December 2018 at the age of 28 from complications of type 1 diabetes. Phillip's battle with diabetes started at 11 years of age and he struggled with it all his life.   Diabetes is a condition that is mentally draining as well as physically tough on your body.  We as a family watched him try to maintain a regular life but sometimes this was very hard for him to do especially in the last few years.  He found and we witnessed that people did not really understand how diabetes is an hour by hour condition.  High blood sugars followed by low blood sugars can result in coma.
Phillip loved animals and worked as a veterinary assistant and rescued the above three dogs.  We as a family feel this is the perfect way to remember Phillip

Because of kind, generous people like YOU, we have been able to fund our first Diabetic Alert dog called DUKE, he is a handsome brown Lab/Retriever mix.  We are very grateful to Lily Grace Service Dogs for providing and training Duke.

Here you can see Eli & Duke meeting for the first time, because of the training Duke received, he knew who Eli was right away.

April PADLSPALS.jpg

Meet April who is a schoolteacher and mother of two in Mission Viejo, southern California.  April has been managing her diabetes since she was a child.   We are very happy to be able to provide a donation to Diabetes Alert Dogs of America on behalf of April, who has recently been assigned a beautiful AussieDoodle called Maple.  Maple should be home with April by the end of this year once all the intensive training is complete.
